It is a U.S. national park with over one million acres of wilderness area. The landscape has narrow, high plateaus, deep ravines, and spectacular views of the Wasatch Mountains. Continue on to the Springdale Trail where you will encounter a few interesting falls including Angel Falls, Mountain Laurel, and Cedar Falls. The greatest views in this area of the park are found at the junction of the Rainbow Springs Road and the North Rim Road. At this point, you will find three distinct parking lots. The southern most one has a great time gazing at the beautiful junctions of roads as you drive through them. The northern portion of the Rainbow Springs Road has several wonderful hiking spots that will provide you with a great time while visiting zion national park. If you enjoy visiting the deep red sand dunes of the western part of the state, then you will want to make your way to the Sand Hollow Canyon. At this point, the road becomes dry and difficult to drive. Instead, make your way to the Cedar City-Brian Head Tourism Bureau and pay a visit to the Sand Hollow Visitor Center. This is the location where you will get to view all kinds of photos of the western part of the state as well as famous canyons such as the Zion National Park. The Bureau also has information about the canyons themselves which is helpful for a more enjoyable visit to the area. You will not be able to drive on the west rim of the Grand Canyon without taking a tour of it in order to see it up close. .
